This service comprises: a teapot, a coffee pot, hot water pot, sugar bowl (with cover) and cream/milk jug. The set is a faithful copy of the cut-card style first made during the reign of Queen Anne, circa 1710. The spouts and handles of each piece have a fancy, applied decorative motif, a technique known as “cut-card”. The coffee pot and hot water jug have a lovely straight sided, tapering form, whilst the teapot and cream jug have a baluster-shape and the covered sugar bowl is circular. The teapot, coffee pot and hot water pot have heat resistant wooden handles and pour beautifully. This is a good sized teaset with the teapot, coffee pot and hot water pot having a capacity of 2 pints (1100ml) each. A nice touch and attention to detail is the hinged flap at the spout aperture on the coffee pot (preventing heat loss). This is a magnificent quality service in superb condition with every piece having a satisfying hefty feel in the hand. They bear the hallmarks of the prestigious Leicester retailer, George Tarratt.
