A rare and beautiful early English oak serving or side table with carved front decorative frieze panel. This table is raised on turned block supports. The top is composed of three oak planks with a tapered edge. The table pribably dates to the last quarter of the 17th Century from its stylistic elements although I’ve seen a number of first quarter 17th century tables in a similar style. Side or service tables are far less common than other tables from this period and today offer up a range of uses, from a fine hall table to a decorative side table in a living room to a feature desk. Perfect for the period home. Early English period okak furniture has an unmistakable patina and colour and this is certainly a fine piece. Approximate dimensions: 122 cm wide and 63.5 cm deep by 73 cm high. I do not have the facility to wrap and pack unfortunately.
